Tackling Tree Hazards at a Local Equestrian Centre
We were recently called in to deal with a serious tree hazard at the boundary of a local horse riding and jockey academy. These large, mature trees had stood strong through a recent construction development nearby, but unfortunately, one eventually failed at the root base and toppled into neighbouring trees.
As it fell, it became entangled with the surrounding canopy, causing multiple trees to become unstable and ultimately uprooted. With the site actively used for horse training and riding, the risk to people and animals was extremely high.
Our team was brought in to safely remove the three towering, compromised trees. They were leaning precariously over a boundary fence, which had to be carefully removed before any cutting could begin. Once the area was safely cordoned off and training activity paused, we began the removal process.
Using controlled techniques and the right equipment, we brought the trees down safely and efficiently. We then repurposed the wood chip as a natural weed suppressant in a previously overgrown area, and donated the remaining timber to a nearby farm.
This job was a brilliant example of teamwork – not just from our crew at Elementree Care, but also from the property owners, who made necessary adjustments to schedules and site access so the job could run smoothly.
