Laurel Hedge Replacement & New Planting
As part of this project, we carried out a full hedge removal and replanting service to restore a failing boundary hedge. Our client had purchased 16 laurel plants to strengthen and extend an existing hedge line, replacing a section that had died off and become heavily overgrown with ivy.
We started by removing the dead hedging and invasive ivy, clearing the area to prepare for new planting. The old hedge stumps were professionally ground out, which not only removed the remaining root material but also helped break up and loosen the soil. This process improves drainage and creates better growing conditions for new hedge plants.
Once the ground preparation was complete, each laurel plant was carefully spaced and planted in line with the existing hedge. Proper positioning is essential for long-term hedge health, even growth, and a dense, uniform screen. The new planting now blends seamlessly with the established hedge and will provide year-round privacy and structure as it matures.
This project is a great example of our hedge planting, stump grinding, and garden restoration services, helping clients replace failed hedging with strong, healthy new growth.
